Much of the food served is grown on the premises (including the coffee!). Guests on the tour will have their private bungalows (double occupancy).

Round-trip flights from Boston to Guatemala (flight credit given to guests flying from other cities)
5 overnights in a private bungalow
Full-time tour leader

All breakfasts, 2 lunches (with wine), all dinners
2 half-day excursions to neighboring villages; including a guided hike, cooking class, weaving lesson, and wine and cheese lunch

Our itinerary includes lots of free time to relax and unwind. Think of it as a group tour for people who aren’t into group tours. The tour includes two optional half-day group activities, and we’ll gather in the evenings for dinner. The rest of your time is yours to do as you like. Read. Soak in the wood-fired hot tub. Kayak. Explore the hotel gardens. Get a massage. Play with the 3 friendly resident dogs. Or simply enjoy the stunning views.

Lake Atitlan Tour Itinerary
DAY 1 โ Fly to La Aurora International Airport, and meet your private driver who will transfer you to the hotel. You’ll arrive at the resort by boat and find a welcome cocktail waiting for you, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner prepared with local ingredients. Get settled into your bungalow and enjoy the first of many beautiful sunsets over Lake Atitlan.
DAY 2 โ After a homemade breakfast accompanied by locally grown coffee, we’ll travel to Jaibalito by private boat. There we’ll meet our local guide for a scenic hike to neighboring Santa Cruz. After working up an appetite, we’ll head to culinary school for a cooking class, learning to make some regional specialties and eat what we’ve made for lunch. We’ll then travel by tuk tuk to the dock where our private boat will be waiting to bring us back to the resort. Tonight we’ll share another wonderful dinner together.
DAY 3 โ Wake up to another delicious breakfast (delivered to your bungalow if you want to sleep in). Today is all yours. Get a massage. Take a kayak or stand-up paddle board out on the lake. Go shopping in one of the local villages. Enjoy a cocktail in the wood-fired hot tub. We’ll meet again for dinner and you can tell us all about it.

DAY 4 โ This morning we’ll travel by boat to San Juan for a lesson in the traditional art of weaving, a craft that’s been practiced in the region for hundreds of years. With your creation in hand, we’ll walk to a favorite local restaurant for a private wine and cheese lunch. We’ll arrive back at the resort in time for a cocktail before dinner.
DAY 5 โ Today is free for relaxing or exploring on your own. Just make sure you’re back in time for our farewell dinner, where we’ll raise a glass to an idyllic five days in paradise!
DAY 6 โ After an early breakfast, we’ll say adios to Lake Atitlan and transfer to the airport for our flights home.
